HOLD-UP MEN
CHARGED AT AUCKLAND 'By Telegraph—Press Association;. AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. The AYestfield hold-up men, David -McKenzie Stewart and Boy Patrick Kitcliing, appeared at the Supreme Court this afternoon and pleaded guilty to being armed on November 27th. last with an offensive weapon, with intent to rob the occupants of a car which they field up in the early hours of the morning. Pleas of not guilty were entered to several other charges involving robbery and assault. “1 pleitd guilty to the sixth count, but- not to the others,” replied both of the accused, when asked if they had anything to say. Accordingly the remainder of the charges were withdrawn by the Crown. Counsel for Kitcliing said that a representative of the accused’s family was arriving from Melbourne on Monday, and he would like sentence to lie deferred till then. The accused were remanded for sentence until February 13th. On the same day Stewart will also he sentenced on a charge of obtaining £23 7s (id by means of false pretences.
