The probability of the allocation of three new fast freighters to the Alls traliaii trade is being discussed in shipping circles here. It is understood Roosevelt interests are planning to improve the service with a fleet diesel ships. The announcement is admittedly premature; nevertheless tin Roosevelt line is receiving three ves sols, namely. Courageous, Triumph, am! Defiance, which were recently con verted to diesel electric drive. SENATE- DECISION. WASHINGTON, February 5. The Senate wrote into the Cruiser Bill to-day a statement that it 'favoured a treaty with the principal navir powers to regulate the conduct of belli gerents and neutrals at sea. MR COOLTDGK’S ATTITUDE. WASHINGTON. February 5. Although Mr Coolidge does not approve of the Cruiser Construction Bill, with the time restriction clause included, lie does not wish to he understood as saying positively that lie wii' veto the measure, according to an announcement he made.
