STRANDED ZINGARA
ABANDONED TO UNDER WELTERS. Mr L. Wood, of Wood iind Son, shiprights, Wellington, to-day examined the Zingara on behalf o'f the owners, and also on behalf of the underwriters. Me reports that the vessel is severely strained, and is of the opinion that she is a total constructive loss. The Wellingt n-West Coast Shipping Coy. are now abandoning the vessel to the underwriters. Captain M. McArthur is remaining in the meantime to look after their interests. Messrs McArthur and Co., managing agents for the W.-AV .C. S.Co., advise that they are now negotiating for the charter of a vessel to take up the running until such time as a vessel to replace the Zingara can be built, and it is hoped by them to have the normal running resumed with the chartered vessel within the next two or three weeks.
