BOWLING
NEXT WEEK’S TOURNAMENT. Arrangements in connection with the West Coast Centre bowling tournament which commences on Monday morning are now practically completed. Sixteen rinks will play on the Hokitika green, and eleven rinks oil the Greymoutli green. Rev. KnowlesSmith and Mr Cooke will act as umpires at Hokitika and Mr F. Kilgour will fill a similar position at Greymouth. Monday and Tuesday will be devoted to rink play at- each green, three games of 21 heads on each day. On Wednesday and Thursday flicpairs play will take place. At Hokitika on Wednesday there will be a time limit of two hours for each game, while on Thursday the time limit will be cut down to one hour forty minutes, to enable any '■notional ties to be played off that evening if necessary. At Greymoutli the time limit will be two hours on each day. On Friday the finals will 'be played at Hokitika, when the section winners ’•! the rinks and pairs will play to a finish. Both Greymouth and Hokitika greens will provide two section winners in the rinks, and four section winners in the pairs. The Hokitika green is in good order, and only requires fine weather to make it fast. The rain during the week so far has prevented as much work being done as would have otherwise have been, but a couple of fine days at. the week-end will make the green in good tournament order. The lady supporters of the Clulr are arranging for the entertainment of the players on their usual generous lines. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided for players and visitors, who will be welcomed, and are cordially invited to attend at the green at all sessions, and watch the play, which is always of an attractive and interesting nature. At Greymoutli, the Greymoutli Bowl, ing Club have kindly taken over the arrangements for the play of the overflow. It is honed that when th* next tournament comes to Hokitika that the Mental Hospital green, completed this year, will be in order for tournament play. CHAMPION OF CHAMPION'S. On Saturday, 16th, the singles champion of champions of the West Coas f will be decided when representatives will meet on the Hokitika green Mr D. Stevenson will be the representative of the local Club. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the West Coast. Centre of the New Zealand Bowling Association will be held on Monday evening next at Hokitika, when the delegates of the various Clubs will be bore for the tournament. Mr Allan Adams, of Greymoutli, has consented to accept the Secretaryship of the Centre.
