YOUTHS SENTENCED

JUDGE’S COALMENT. (Per Press Association —By FJectric Telegraph—Copyright). DUNEDIN, February 5. “ There is not the slightest doubt of their guilt, yet they come (forward with facetious pleas why they should not lie punished. They have produced testimonials saying they’re good lads, but it is quite clear they’re nothing of the kind. These young larrikins must be taught a lesson. I’m unable to distinguish between them.” After making these remarks, AllJustice MacGregor, in the Supreme Court, sentenced three young men Samuel Joseph Blee, Reginald Robert Sutherland, and Albert George Rodgers, to reformative detention for two years on charges of breaking and entering a warehouse and other places. In one place where the youths got nothing they left a note: “ If the next time there is no money here you will get your throat cut. AVe mean it. (Signed)—The Silent Five. AVe are killers.”
