•LAST QUARTER’S FIGURES. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, .January 31. The return of the Post and Telegraph revenue for the quarter ended 31sl December, 1928, shows that the total was £960.029. compared with £883.81 7 for the same quarter of the previous year. The postal revenue for che fourth quarter of 1928 amounted to £394,423, and the telegraph revenue to £5(5(5,200, compared with £365.483 and P 015,333 respectively for the last quarter of 1927. The totals of Postal and Telegraphs revenue at the four centres were:— Auckland £22(5.80(5, Wellington £186,()S() (excluding G.P.O. £51,61(5). Christchurch £131,428. Dunedin £45,616. Other centres with a heavy turnover were:—Hamilton £71,249, Napier £2i.G2G, Invercargill £25,330. New Plymouth £23.2(57, Palmerston North £27.943, Tim am £29,050. Wanganui £29,599. Til the Post Office Savings Banks throughout the Dominion, the deposits in the quarter ended December, 1928, totalled £(5.784,178 and the withdrawals totalled £7,187,755. as compared with £7.152.342 and £7,909,573 respectively in the fourth quarter of 1927. In the former ease the excess of withdrawals over deposits was £403,570, and in the latter case £757,231.
