AUCKLAND, January 29. At Takapuna races, the stewards held an inquiry into an incident during the running of theWeiwera Higbweight Handicap, by which Mashoor suffered interference. K. Garrett, rider of Arc-been, was held to have caused the interference', and lie was suspended for two months. COAL MAGNATE’S HORSES. REFUSE TO SELL. - SYDNEY, January 28. At the thoroughbred sales to-day. John Brown’s string of horses were offered. Mostly they were passed. Ilis three-year-colt by Magpie-Charieville, named Magnifieio, a full brother to Windbag, for which Mr Brown paid lour thousand guineas, as a yearling, was passed, with no offer. Marco March was also passed at two thousand two hundred guineas.
