DRUNKEN CAR DRIVER

Pleading guilty in the Police Court to a charge ol intoxication while in charge of a motor car, Harold Cotton was iined .tin and had his driving license cancelled for twelve mouths, ilo had been lined previously for intoxication while in eliurge of a car. DROWNED. BLENHELM, Jan. 30. Hamilton Bogle, 22, a native of Ireland, believed to he without relatives in the Dominion, was drowned at Kaiuma. Peiorus Sound, yesterday. Charles Pulia, who at the risk of their own lives and under considerable personal difficulties, did everything humanly possible to rescue the deceased. SUDDEN DEATH. AUCKLAND, January 30. Freda Lewis, aged 21, a seamstress, living with her parents at Morningside, was taken ill at 2.30 a.m. and rushed to the hospital at 4 a.m. where she died one hour later. Indications are that death was caused by strychnine poisoning.
