WEST COAST ROADS
WELLINGTON, January 25
The. following monthly report gives details of the more important construction work carried out during the month of December, 1928, by the Main Highways Board: Nelson Blenheim, Whangamoa Hill.— A number of sharp curves have been widened on his hill and further work is in hand. Richmond - Collingwond, Moluckn Bridge.—The construction of this bridge has been continued. Nelson - Westport, Wairoa River Bridge at Brig.htwater.—The dismantling of the old structure is practically completed. Stoke-R.iclinioml.~The construction ol a bituminous-macadam surface is in hand. Tnangnlnia Juction-Waiho, Larry’s Creek Bridge.—The approaches have been completed. Improvements on tin* lull past Arnold bridge have been completed. Work on the railway crossing at Spring Creek has been put in hand. Two sharp points have been widened between Greymouth and Omoto. Watnroa Deviation. Three chains of this section have been formed. Slaty Oreek bridge has been completed. Good progress is being made with the Stony Creek bridge. Westport- Greymouth Coast Road. Westport - Charleston.—A considerable amount of widening and other improvements have been carried out on this section. A number of new culverts have been installed.' Preparations have been made to place further men.
