FOUR VESSELS IN DISTRESS

NEW 7 YORK, January 20
Rescue ships and salvage tugs are steaming to-night to aid four vessels reported disabled in the high sea and gales which are sweeping the Atlantic for a thousand miles off the American shore.
The latest steamer to report itself in distress is the Silver Maple, iSO miles east of Boston. Coastguard maters are proceeding to her relief. The steam trawler Seiner is believed To have been lost off Georges Banks. The steamer. Capo Yado, 750 miles east of Bermuda, is the object of a search by Western Knight, which answered the Yado’s distress signals. The steamship Fernlane reported she Imd lost her rudder and was helpless live hundred miles south-east of Bermuda. A salvage tug is steaming to take her in tow.
