CAS EXPLOSION. AT OIL BORE. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 2-1. Oas activity at the Ulenhpim oi! Tore here, at which' reclamation work is progressing, caused an explosion which startled nearby residents yesterday. The engineer states that a violent explosion as the plunger was being withdrawn blew the plunger through the root' of the derrick and s*-ot oil, mud and water to a height of about I.ooft. Some damage was done to the •structure and macihncrv.
