The Miners Federation officials sent ;t request to the Prime. Minister for a Royal Commission to inquire into the coal industry.

Donald, chairman of the Collieries - Association. stated the owners-would declare their policy in a few days’ time, which is regarded :1S ominous. Inter-State shipping would first -feel the. effect of a strike, hut the railways and powerhouses have good reserves of coal.
