"THE RAWHIDE KID” TO-NIGHT.

race agpirtst his better enemy and the law, w,ith a-, girl as the prize, is one of the thrilling scenes in “The Rawhide Kid,” the Universal Picture

to b© screened to-night at the Princess Theatre. Hard-riding, straight- ( shooting Hoot Gibson is the star o, * this clean, vigorous drama, replete with thrills,, comedy and romance.

Universal has given Hoot a wonderfully grippin play and to it has been addj&s'ed a splendid supporting cast—Frank Y Hagney as J. Francis Jackson, does his best by fair means and foul, mostly foul, to win the girl and thwart Dennis O’Hara, the latter impersonated by Gibson. Then there is Harry Todd, one of the screen’s finest comedians, who gives to his characterisation some of the best ..work of his career. William H. Strauss, a stage actor for many years adds much with his characterisation of the father. . This latest Gibson play gives the ever popular Hoot a rare opportunity to display hi wonderful horsemanship, for he rides like a whirlwind in one of' the most -spectacular horse races ever filmed. Unifversal gathered together a wonderful .''group of cowpunchers who push Hoot hard for the honours as the wildly galloping animals do all the tricks and stunts known in racing. Pretty Georgia Hale who may be remembered for her stellar work .in Charlie Chaplin corn* dies, plays the. leading feminine role opposite the popular Hoot. Del Andrews directed the picture. The fitial chapter of the chapter play “Whispering. Smith Rides,” will be shown. Law and order will be given one last' slim chance of besting tlie desperate Giinlock Hole gang and bringing things to rights. Even though the villainy of- the gnng has been exposed, the determined scoundrels are still intent upon making one last scoop—the money, the girl and the border line. The dashing Wallace MacDonald has a scant half hour in which to defeat the desperate crew and prove he :t- n serial hero worth talking -Y" about. The coming episide “A Call of ' the Heart” will tell all.
