(By Telegraph- -Per Press Association.)
BRISBANE, Jan: 23
It is feared floods in the north have claimed one victim, a youth named Fairwoutlier, who left Abercorn three days ago to take food to his father, who was working in the hush. He has not been seen and it is feared he is drowned. At Bundaherg the wafer is covering the wharves to a depth of nine feet, and has entered many dwellings, and several trains at swollen rivers north of Townsville.
Bridges have been submerged at Proserpine, where an exceptionally severe flood is feared. The weather bureau has issued a warning that a cyclone is developing between Cardwell, Willis Island, and Bowen.
