LUGGAGE GOES ASTRAY.
LUGGAGE GOES ASTRAY. VISITORS INCONVENIENCED. AUCKLAND, January 18. A family of Australians who arrived from Sydney by the Aorangi to spend a holiday in the Dominion had the misfortune to lose their luggage in an unusual manner. On Monday they decided to change their hotel, and left word that their bags were to l>e conveyed to their new hotel some time during the day. When they called at the hotel in the evening the luggage had not arrived, and investigation revealed that it had been placed on board the Aorangi, which was then steaming out of the harbour on her way to Vancouver. The carrier evidently misunderstood his instructions and seeing the Aorangi labels on the hags concluded they were to go on board the ship. The Aorangi was communicated with by wireless, and the luggage will be put ashore at Suva, to bo picked up by the Niagara on her way south. As the Niagara is not due at Auckland until the end of the month, all members of the party, who are all women, have been put to considerable inconvenience. Auckland shopkeepers will doubtless benefit.
