A fifteen knot breeze blew throughout the race, which was full of interest. The Vanessa, who had a rating allowance of 13 minutes 52 seconds, won by about two minutes. The course was ten miles to windward and return. This is tjie first time an inter-State yacht has won three successive heats rind the cup.
