MONTHLV MEETING. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. IP. The Canterbury Education Baud met yesterday. Present—Messrs M . M. Winsor (.chairman), W. A. Banks, J. M aze, G. W. Armitage, E. 11. Andrews, J. G. Gow, \\\ Johnson, R. Wild, T. Hughes, W. P. Spencer 'ami H. J. Bignall. APPOINTMENTS. Appointments confirmed included the following:— Evans Creek, Mr T. Kelly, sole teacher. Greymouth, Miss K. Malpass, assistant mistress. Ruiianga, Miss F. M. Butcher, assistant mistress. Okuru, Miss C. .McNight, sole teacher. RESIGNATIONS. Resignations accepted, included: — Lower Koib rangi, Miss R. H . Wild; Blackball, Miss A. K. Gillooly. BUILDINGS COMMITTEE. Tho l'o Mowing recoin me 1 ixl at. i 011 swe r.• approved:— Wataroa.—lt was resolved to ask th Foreman to report on the Committee > application for improved ventilation in the older rooms of the new school, sifter which the Chairman of’the Board and the Chairman of the Buildings Committee are to take any necessary action. 'Blue Spur.—The Department agreed to the establishment ol a household school at Blue Spur. The Department authorised the institution of a conveyance contract to Hokitika. The (plosion of making local arrangements was referred to Air Wild. Weheku.—The Department asked that a household school be established in this district.—lt was resolved to comply with the request. probationers. The following probationers were ap proved for Hokitika: —AVm. Itidlind. p ■ Herbert H. Swenev, P.; Alillicenl Wild. P.; Ed no M. Redder (probationary assistant).
