SALVATION ARMY

THE ARMY lII'SET. THE CANDIDATES. (United Press Association—By Electric Tel eg. ..ph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10.30. a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 17. Salvation Army circles express the opinion that there arc three candidates for the generalship now, in Eva Booth, Higgins or Commissioner Hurreii. who was responsible for calling the Council together. Higgins is nn st likely to receive the offer, hut may refuse it on the grounds of age. There is a very strong feeling now that General Booth is deposed, that the Booth regime should not be perpetuated. Moreover, Eva’s American standing handicaps her. hence there is a probability of Hiirren’s success.
