SLY GROG RAID

CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 14
A party of police from Christchurch made a raid on an alleged sly grog shop at Hanmer Springs on Saturday last. They secured a good haul. Since the destruction by fire of Jollie’s Pass Hotel, the Hanmer district has been “Dry.” The Lands Department lias declined to renew tin lease of the section on which the Ik.tel property formerly stood.
