SELF-DEFENCE

A NATIVE ACQUITTED. (Australian Press Association) (United Service.) (Received this day at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 15. A recruiting expedition unaccompanied by white men, attempted to seine the home natives at Mapungo. The latter resisted and it is alleged a recruit named Alimcl killed a man with an axe. Alimcl, at the Central Court, was later acquitted on a charge of murder, as he acted in sell defence.
