With W»e fciiggcist {aggregation of polo ponies that have ever invaded United States. Steen Beverage arrived here to-day from Honolulu. Other moiwbers of the team will assemble within a few days. They play their first game against Midwick Quartette next Saturday. Pierson is here, Edwards and Baldwin arc on route from Vancouver and Dillingham is on the way from Europe. iThe mounts, which include 48 ponin the care of twelve grooms, stood the trip well, despite several days of rough weather. There are 38 Australian thoroughbreds. Eight are Maui ponies from Hawaii. The Polo season just opening promises to be the most colourful in Southern California history. Among the players who will ■ perform at Midwick is Tommy Hitchcock.
