The largest and fastest lifeboat in the world, designed for tho rescue of distressed cross Channel aeroplanes, is being bulit for the- Lifeboat Institution. Its speed will be eighteen knots. She will be stationed at Dover, and will assist cross-Channel steamers, but it will be unsuitable 'for the shallow waters of the Goodwins. MUSSOLINI’S REPLY. Tlie “Sunday Express” tells a story of Walter Citrine, Secretary of the Trade Union Congress, and Sassenback, Secretary International Federation Trade Unions, going to Rome to persuade Mussolini to allow Italy to join the Federation of Labour. The leaders harangued for exactly sixtyfive minutes after which Mussolini talked for exactly sixty-five minutes. He concluded:—“You have the audacity to ask me to delegate rule my work people to a handful of political fanatics at Amsterdam. You have wasted your time and I do not know whose money.” Mussolini then rang the hell, the door opened and exit the labourites. COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS. Young's name is regarded as a guarantee that the inquiry will he serious and busi-ness-like. The British Foreign Office has appointed Sir Charles Addis, Director of the Bank of England, and Sir Basil Blackett, as deputy members of the Committee
