LONDON, dan. 13, •> Maude Royden arrived at London from a world tour. -She was greeted at Victoria Station hv scores ot admirers and bouquets. She was quite prepared for the questions anent cigarette smoking. Australia was little under the impression that England was sending • her duds or ■ thrp.wouts, living on the dole. She wished the word “dole”" could he abolished. It embittered people, besides giving a wrong impression. Miss Royden’s views were more moderately expressed in the “Observer.” She stressed tile live interest of Australia in international affairs. She found them tremendously keen on the work of the League of Nations. She urged speakers going thither to choose that kind of subject. She praised baby clinics for the reduction of infant mortality. Nothing was lacking in the reception at Port Adelaide, once the ice was broken. 'Hie biggest crowd was at the church.
