MURDER MYSTERY
BODY IN G All AGE. (United Press Association —By Electro Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, Jan. 11. Scotland Yard is investigating the mystery murder of Vivian Mess iter, aired 55. Southampton manager of an American Oil Company, whose body was found, with a revolver shot through the back of his head. The body was found inside a private garage at Southampton, padlocked on the outside, ten weeks after his disappearance. The police theory is that the murder was committed away from the garage, and the hodv taken there. A post mortem reveals that death took place two months ago. Messiler was last seen on October 30th. Mossiter, who was born in Somerset, had a lengthy residence in America and on the Continent, and was a major with the Canadians during war time. It is believed lie has a wife in America, and was murdered soon after his appointment at Southampton.
FRESH DEVELOPMENTS. (Received this day at 8.30. a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 13. A fresh development occurred in the Mossiter case (by the discovery of a code among the possessions in the apartment with which it believed corresponded with a woman in New York. The code was confined in phrases of endearment. A man’s trunk also contained letters in n woman’s handwriting hearing licit her address nor signature. Another puzzling feature is two feathered darts near the body. There is ito trace of a bullet, and no money in the pockets. The police are seeking a man known to frequent his company.
