EVERYBODYB PICTURES. “SHARP SHOOTERS.” —TO-NIGHT. Playing he role .of a fighting seaman in Fox Films “Sharp Shooters,” opening at the Princess Theatre, is not new to Georg© O’Brien because he was a gob himself during the war and has portrayed the role of a sailor once before on the screen. In this type of role George can just slide into character wtliout any particular effort. O’Brien, who is known as on© of the most perfect physical specimens of Y*he younger generation in America today, received his training early in the war when he enlisted in the navy and was assigned to sub-chaser “297”. He was detailed to the radio division. It was then that this young Irishman, who has always been interested in athletics, was attracted to the fight ring king of all sports among sailors. George fought his way to the lighthenyyweight championship of the Pacific fleet. It was a good many years after the war when George was once again requested to don the sailor outfit. But this time it was for a motion picture, “The Blue Eagle” and he acquitted himself with such honors that has again been assigned to play the role of the American gob in “Sharp Shooters.” Walking right into the role of a gob would be hard for an ordinary actor. Besides the sailor’s healthy physique, there are certain mannorisms that are almost impossible to be acquired by one not initiated. Playing . with O’Brien in the stellar feminine role is Lois Moran as the French dancing girl who makes - charming lead for the gob. In the exceptionally'fine cast are Gwen Lee, Noah Youqg, ,Tom -Dugan, William Demarest,., Nancy Carroll and Joseph Swickard. J. G. Blystone directed.
