A special meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association, was held to consider the appeal by W. J. Moir, against the action of Westland Trotting Club, in dismissing a protest lodged by A. Hendrickson, driver ol .Muir’s horse Neeoro, which ran second at Hokitika to A'oung Author, for alleged into rfereneo. 'File Association decided that the question being one of fact, no appeal could lie, hut in the exercise of Hie powers conferred upon it under Rule 32 1 , referred the matter hack for further consideration liv the Club.

Freeman Holmes, after lie had been charged with attempting to induce N. C. Price to commit a breach of Rule 280. and in doing so was guilty of a breach of Rule 341, section 8. was lined £25 by the New Brighton Trotting Club. He appealed against the latter decision and the Association decided that lie he informed that there was no appeal, as his notice was not lodged in accordance with Rules 318 and 7)19. It was also decided that the fee lodged bv him with the notice, be refunded.
