DARGAVI LLE, Jan. 11

A record piece of ambergris estimated to weigh about 2.2-1 pounds aviordpois weight was lound at a spit near Kaipara Heads yesterday by V. Subritsky and his brother, who were motoring in the vicinity and noticed it. in the tide. The piece was so large that they bail didicidty in getting it into their car. On arrival at the I reach camp it took four men to carry it. It was brought into the bank today and will be shipped to London. jt is probably the largest single piece ever found in New Zealand. At the present market rates, it is worth several thousand pounds.
