AUSTRALIA V. N.Z. SECOND TEST MATCH. MAR-GIN OF ONE POINT. WELLINGTON. January 4. Conditions were ideal to-day lor the second rubber between the Australian and New Zealand representative bowling teams on the Thorndon Club’s greens. Australia won four but of tbc six games, being defeated on the aggregate by only one point, the totals beings New Zealand 126, Australia 125. Aimin', Holmes, Brighting, Harroway 19. N.Z. v. AUSTRALIA. WELLINGTON, Jan. 5. The third rubber of the Australia v. New Zealand contest was played today on the Wellington Club green. At the commencement- of play New Zealand bad a lead of 63 as a result of the two earlier rubbers. The opposing skips were Griffiths and Scott, Bleach and Walker, Thompson and Harroway. Rogerson and Smart, Clark and Pilkington, Curran and Bell, the Australian skips being mentioned nrst. Play was of a very even nature, and some close beads were witnessed. The following are the compete results of the third test, New Zealand skips being mentioned first in each instance: Pilkington 20 v. Clarke 23, Sc-ott 26 v. Griffin 17; Smart 19 v. Rogerson 22; Walker 30 v. Bleach 21; Bell 21 v. Curran 20; Harroway 27 v. i nomnson 10.

Totals: New Zealand 143; Australia 118.
