INNISFAIL INCIDENT
OFFENDERS BEFORE COURT. (Australian Press Association) (United Service.) BRISBANE, January L At the Innisfail Court, Percy Ding wall, 18, and Walter Butcher, 17, were charged with unlawfully damaging the Italian coat of arms on December 23. Both pleaded guilty. inspector Mann stated that accused wi>re under the influence ol drink. They had removed a number of signs They were unaware of the seriousness of their action in removing the Italian insignia. A solicitor for accused expressed d-.-ep regret, and declared that the lads had no ill will against the Italian Consul. The Magistrate, Mr Aitken, expressed a hope that the lads would give up drink, r ial warned them of tho grave risk of internalional complications arising from their action. He ordered both to enter a- bond of CIO and to eonie up for sentence when called upon.
