The bowling Tost, Now Zealand versus Australia, was commenced to-day on the Hataitai green, which, though in first-class condition, required linn howling to play full-length heads. This suited New Zealand better than | the visitors, who are used to hare greens that are treacherously keen. In addition, there was little finish in the howls, and very “fine” play, as it is understood on Australian greens in summertime, was ' not possible. The result was a somewhat easy win for New Zealand, who won four out of the six 'games, and won by 170 points to 113. The results of the games were as follows: Australia (Victoria)— Gray, Gleniston.
