ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, January 3. At- the live stock market to-day at Addington, tho yardings mostlv wore small. Prices generally were favourable to buyers. Fat Cattle.—There was a very small yarding, the quality being nondescript, and mostly cows. Steers sold: Heavy £22 to £24 2s fid, prime £lB 15s to £2O 10s, handy £lfi 10s to £lB ss, medium £ls to £l6 10s, light £l2 10s to £l4 10s. Cows sold: Heavy £l4 5s to £ls 17s fid. prime £ll to £l4 ss, medium £9 15s to £ll, light £6 15s to £7 15s. Heifers sold: Heavy £l4 5s to £ls 17s fid, prime £l2 10s to £l3 15s, medium £9 5s to £ll 3s, light £7 10s to £9 10s.
Fat Sheep.—There was a small yarding. Prices were irregular. Mostly ewes wore forward. Prices were slightly easier. Prime wethers sold at 34s to 38s 10d, medium 30s to 33s fid, light 27s fid to 29s fid. Ewes sold: Prime 30s to 36s 7d, medium 26s to 29s fid, light 23s to 255, old as low as 18s. Store Sheep.—There was a small entry, which met a firm demand at late rates. Two-tooth wethers sold from 20s and 245, 'four tooth 26s (id and 25s 9d ; Romney wethers 295, four and six tooth Chatham owes 34s 5(1; ewes and lambs to 25s 9d.
Fat Lambs.—The entry was 680 head and prices showed a light rise on late rates. A considerable number were unfinished. Best sorts sold to 34s id. prime 31s to 335, medium 28s to 10s fid, light 25s fid to 27s fid. Pigs.—There was a small entry, and a good sale lor pork. Prices ueic. Light 30s and 355, medium 37s to 455, heavy 48s to 555. Prices for bacon were: 52s and medium £3 to £3 7s fid, heavy £3 10s to £3 v lss; average price, fid per lb. Stores were slightly easier.
