MIDSUMMER MEETING. Tlie Westland Trotting Club’s meeting is taking place on Hokitika racecourse to-day in fine weather, gixid attendance and course fast. The following results were available before we went to press: — DISTRICT HANDICAP, (in harness, of £7O. 11 miles. ( I) Charlie Lincoln 1 (7) Reta Nelson 2 (8) Spotlight 3 Ser. —Queen’s Ferry. Sissisox and Charlie Lincoln led past the stand with Kjfwana next. In the straight Charlie Lincoln took command with Reta Nelson coming fast, and won by a length, Spotlight two lengths further back. Allanora, the favourite, was last nearly all the way. Time 3.3 4-5. Tote £159.\. KANIERI HANDICAP, (in harness), of LSI). 1 mile. ((i) Fair Lad 1 (1) Wallace Logan 2 (3) Ronchdale 3
Scr.—Miss Terry. Wallace Logan and Ronchdale led till near the post, Fair Lad getting up in the last few strides to win by half a length, with Ronchdale a length away. Time 2.23. Tote £665.}.

Alton Brook led. well oway from the field, till Royal Review caught up but broke badly. Alton Brook broke near the post, and Plum Tree coming last Avon by a length, Olive Nelson four length’s away.
