NEW YEAR REVELS
GAIETY IX LONDON. (United Press Association —Uy Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, .Jan. 1. It is generally agreed that New Year revels broke all records. Every hotel, restaurant, cabaret, and night club was crammed with guests. Ten thousand to 12,000 people drifted in tin* direction of St. I'awl’s, where there was the same old singing and dancing, a good-natured crowd stretching from Ludgate Circus to Cheapside. SNOWSTORMS IN ENGLAND. LONDON, Dec. 31. The Old Year closed with snowstorms throughout the country. NOISY CROWDS IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY. Jan. 1. The year 1!)2S departed unmourned lmi not unsung as noisy crowds last night put a period to Old Father Times’s halting progress and welcomed joyfully the New Year. The weather was beautifully line and cool after a hot day and many thousands of people were abroad. The various churches held watchnight services which were well attended.
