DR- MORKANE’S TOUR, (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Jan. 1A well-known specialist of Christchurch, Dr C. E. Moikane, who has been abroad on a nine month s tom, returned by the Aorangi last night. He will go <on to Christchurch in a few days. Dr Morkaiic toured England and visited all the important hospitals. Aiberwards he went to Holland and attended the' Olympic Games. A tour of Germany, Austria, Sweden. At each place he visited l)r Moikane inspected the hospitals. He was niucn impressed with the excellent work being done at the Radium Hainmet (house) in Stockholm. Ibis, he explained. is a famous centre for treatment of cancer by radium. Conditions were very depressing in \ ienna. satid Dr Morknne, although the hospitals there were as good as ever. They were swarming with American doctors, who went there for post-graduate work. Dr Morkaiic found both Eraiv.r and southern Spain very prosperous. “While in London I s|>ont some time wii'th Mr T. P. O'Connor, the wellknown politician and Father of the House of Commons.” he said. “Mr O’Connor is over eighty now and is confined to his house all the time, although he is as bright as ever.”
