TWO WOMEN KILLED
[By Telegraph, Per Press Association.]
HAMILTON, January 1
A car containing five people, returning from a holiday, were within a hundred yards of home at Horotin, when it was struck by the Rotorua-Auekland express this afternoon, and Mrs Alice Armstrong was killed instantly. The car was driven by her husband, and contained his young daughter and two lady relatives named Howse, of Auckland. All were seriously injured. Miss Violet Howse died on the way to the hospital. The crossing is a bad one, being approached by a rise on which there is a considerable amount of noxious growth, ( which obscures a view of tbe line until within a few yards from the crossing.
