HAMILTON, January 1

A car containing five people, returning from a holiday, were within a hundred yards of home at Horotin, when it was struck by the Rotorua-Auekland express this afternoon, and Mrs Alice Armstrong was killed instantly. The car was driven by her husband, and contained his young daughter and two lady relatives named Howse, of Auckland. All were seriously injured. Miss Violet Howse died on the way to the hospital.
