.Monday’s Consistory raised the question of compensation of tin 1 Sacred College. Since Pius Eleventh became Pope, thirty Cardinals have been created. of whom fifteen are Italian and fifteen non-Italian. Now there are seven vacancies, and may he more lielore the spring, when the Pontiff is expected to bold a new consistory, at which the Cardinals will lie created.
Ireland is anxious to lie represented. The choice rests between the Archbishops of Dublin and Aimagh. li i> also recalled that Australia has been seventeen years without a Cardinal since Cardinal .Moran’s death.
