NEW ZEALANDER’S INVENTION. (Australian Press Association). (United Service). SYDNEY, December 19. Largo contractors here are deeply interested in the cable announcement from New Zealand that a New Zealander has invented a briek-laying machine capable of laying 51)00 bricks a day. While some contractors here are disinclined to comment until they have seen the New Zealand invention, Mr Allan Lewis, manager of Concrete Constructions, .Ltd., declared that similar inventions have been experimented with in America and England, but lie hint never beard what became of them. A N.Z. WINNER. PASSBOOK'S EASY VICTORY. SYDNEY, Dec. 19. At Ylomuigle Hark ra -es. the New Zealander, Passbook, which only arrived last week, won the Two-Year-Old Handicap by lour lengths, and gave McCarten an armchair ride.
