A NEW SYNAGOGUE. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The old Hebrew Synagogue on the Terrace is being demolished, to make way for a new brick and concrete structure, costing £II,OOO. The Synagogue was luiilt about 1874. The foundation stone of the new building will he laid about the middle of next month. TO SWIM COOK STRAIT. He was walking along with a, carcase of deer on his hack and dropped his ride, butt downward. It went off and the bullet ontere his leg, badly shattering it. It is hoped that the limb will be saved.
