BANDITS RAID
UN NEW YORK BANK CAR
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). NEW YORK, Dec. 12. The First National Bank’s armoured car failed to hold money against ten determined bandits who decamped with £20,000. Just after daylight, a payroll truck entered Hudson Street, which was deserted, except for a milk waggon. Two bandit cars came from the rear and waited until the milkman had returned from the delivery of an order. The bandits then confronted the milkman with guns and warned him to stand still in silence. Then the bandit cars sped forward, and whirled in ahead of the truck, forcing it to the kerb. The robbers fired several volleys, which smashed the plate glass window in the front of the truck, and wounded the driver-Ywho slumped in his seat. Then attacking tho rear door, they machinedrilled a hole large enough for a bandit to insert his a rift and unlatch the lock. Tho residents were just beginning to take notice of the shooting when the robbers decamped.
