PECULIAR BANKRUPTCY

A SON VICTIM I SUM.).

(I’er Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). AUCKLAND, Dec. 1-1. “It appears that this young man has suffered grievimisly as the result of the •soundrelly acts of his father,” said Judge Frazer in the Bankruptcy Court. “The creditors,” said Ills .Honour. “had recognised the position and the Official Assignee is satisfied. I will therefore make an order for the annulment of the bankruptcy.” The bankruptcy was that ol A onion J.ycll Alev, of Auckland, carpenter. Mr Wills said his client was only 21 voars of age when he was made bankrupt. Young Alev was working on wages when he agreed, in one instance, that his father should purchase certain goods from a Timber Coy. in the name of Alev Junr., hut since then his father continued to carry on operations, and had impersonated the son right through. Claims and accounts came by post addressed to P. L. Alev and Co. care of his father. The son never received those, and he had no knowlodge of what was going on. The hoy who had been so heinously victimised, commenced to pay some of the debts from liis wages, hut when ho found ho was involved in transactions amounting to several hundred pounds, lie had filed a petition in bankruptcy, Ihe creditors had now withdrawn all claims against young Alev, thus vindicating him. The official assignee said the facts as stated were substantially correct. The matter was now before the Crown solicitor.
