Sir T liave no doubt that the public have read, with much amusement, the letter signed “Once Bitten” which appeared in Tuesday’s issue, and have no doubt that the amusement was .somewhat different from the humor which was intended by your anonymous correspondent. Your bucolic correspondent would he somewhat perturbed if he found how his shaft liacl missed the mark and 1 cannot grudge him his excursion into the immortal hard Shakespeare, to illuminate the Borough Road Hog’s correspondence. Let me say that the genius < f Shakespeare traced the noble dust of Alexander til! lie found it stopping a bunghole. AYhy may lie not trace the noble dust of your correspondent till we found it adorning the editoral chair of the leading journal in our Domin-

I will leave it at that, only to add that our purebred is recovering from the cruel wound inflated by someone belli ml a fence, and I challenge anyone to prove the untrue assertions concerning him made by your correspondent. Finally, I must apologise to Shakespeare for his introduction into this correspondence and i can only excuse myself by saying that I was not the first so to trespass.
