THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Tur. Outlook Fcii Kkkohm. fn Liu; present situation the cardinal fact is that although a section of the deform I’arlv joined forces with the Party’s enemies to relmke and punish the Government, the body of Reform opinion is still strong enough to dominate politics and ultimately to repossess the Government of the country. There lies ahead a period of uncertainty and political instalhilitv which may he very short but cannot he very long. The Reform Party ought therfore to keep its powder dry, close its ranks, and prepare for a conclusive test of public opinion. It lias to face only two minority groups, one of which knows its Socialist mind, while the other has no mind of its own to know. —Christchurch Press.
