As anticipated, Smith badly outpointed Lindrum in the first day of the match at Xewcastle-on-Tyne, with thg aid of 2SB, and six other three figure breaks, lie scored 1462, to Rindrum’s 298 in the afternoon, while at the evening session, he had a brilliant break of 718. Liiulmm never reached top form, only averaging thirteen, pei innings in the alternoon, and 47 m the evening.
