GOOD WISHES FOR EXPEDITION

WELLINGTON, Dec. 3
On the eve of the departure of the Byrd Expedition for the Antarctic, Mr Coates, on behalf of the people of New Zealand extended to the expedition cordial good wishes for the success of their undertaking. , The Premier stated New Zealand would render all the assistance in her power should occasion arise.
Commander Byrd replied expressing gratitude for the hospitality and oflcr of assistance.
