Campbell said he .was returning with shattered illusions as to the making oi a motoring record in 'Sahara. He I'ottud the area till right, about eight hundred miles north of I inibuetoo, but it wits Id(I miles to the nearest outpost, and the only access is across an arid, uneven desert, over which till supplies, including water, must he carried.
