SYDNEY, Nov. 27.
The factional light, which disturbed the Seamen’s Union ranks during the past three years, lias {been transferred to the Federal Arbitration Court for settlement, Johnston’s followers having decided to apply for registration. Walsh’s section already has lodged applications. Walsh describes the Johnsonian move as bluff, since they had three years in which to register, but always scouted tho idea. Johnston’s men state, on the other hand that the seamen were induced to join Walsh’s union under false pretences and are now repudiating-
TRAMWAY TROUBLE. SYDNEY, Nov. 27,
The Melbourne tramway men are dissatisfied with the now Roster system and have decided to introduce regulations to strike on Monday unless conditions are remedied.
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPION
CYCLIST DEAD
SYDNEY, Nov. 27
Frederick, hotter known as Jumbo Wolls, the New Zealand champion professional cyclist, collapsed in a city tram last night and died in the hospital. He was aged forty-three. He won the mile wheel race at the motor drome on Saturday night and was an all round athlete.
INFLUENZA CAUSES ANXIETY SYDNEY, Nov. 27.
Influenza in the Letting district continues to cause anxiety, hut it is believed to be easing. There are no fresh eases.
