RYE DISASTER
ALICE SURVIVORS LANDED

LONDON, November 17
The German f steamer Smyrna, which collided with and sank the steamer Alice, has been towed into Flushing Harbour, with the crew oi the Alice on board.
RYE INQUEST. LONDON, November 18
At the inquest on the Rye victims, witnesses gave evidence that the lifeboats were waterlogged and heavy and woud have presented no chance of the victims getting ashore. They would have drowned any man. They had not been tested for three years and must have become perished. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
