The children at first were incredulous, hut after being without food for another day many prayed. After 30 hours’ starvation all prayed fruitlessly. Finally, after a third day, the official re.urned and said that as God had not answered their prayers it might he useful to pray to Renin, who was the Russian God. The children accordingly prayed to Renin, after which food was mysteriously produced.
