BOAT CLUB

The annual meeting of members of the Lake Kanieri Boat Club was held last week when the following officers were elected:— Patron: Dr R. Teichelmann. President; Dr TI. Buchanan. Commodore: Mr C. D. Hart. Secretary: Mr W. Morris. Tt was reported that there were twenty financial monitors and Messrs T. M\ Bruch and W. Cooch were elected members. Only one regatta was held last jeni the chief event being the race for the McTntosh Handicap Challenge Cup wliich was won by Mr k. >T. Andreas Club boats competed also at two firoymouth regattas and were successful in all events. The tide being suitable on that day it was decided to hold on opening regatta on the Hokitika River on the afternoon of Saturday. Ist December, and those officers who assisted at the last regatta are to be asked to gi\e their assistance again this year. Tt is also hoped to hold several race meetings on Lake Kanieri during the summer season, details of which will he published later. The programme for the opening regatta will be as follows: 1. Free for all. 2. Speed boat handicap for McIntosh Cup. Three heats. 3. Novelty race.
