DUEL AT SYDNEY
WITH CAVALRY SAVORDS

SYDNEY, Nov. 9
AVliat is believed to have been a duel with cavalry swords occurred at Darlinghurst this afternoon, resulting in William Gibbs being treated in the hospital for wounds in the hand. Later the police arrested a man, who has been charged with inflicting the injury.' The parties are not communicaivo. They are said to he old soldier comrades. They had an argument and the sword-play followed. One denies the duel. The other says it, was a fair light.

SYDNEY, November 9
A meeting of over three hundred seamen passed a resolution expelling Tom Walsh from the Union on the ground that he was guilty of a betrayal of confidence on vital union matters, and that he had aided the formation of another union in Australia.
STATEMENT CONFIRMED. CANBERRA, Nov. 10. Dr Woolnough, Geological Adviser to the Commomveath Government confirms his earlier statement that distinctly good prospects are obtaining in crude oil at Kimberley, Westralia.
